Little Briar Rose or The Sleeping Beauty

To celebrate the birth of their daughter, the King invites all the wise women of the kingdom. But there are only twelve golden plates and there are thirteen wise women. Feeling spited, the thirteenth wise woman suddenly walks in and curses the baby: “At age fifteen, the princess will prick her finger on a spindle and will die!” The twelfth wise woman’s good wish cannot eliminate the bad curse but can lessen it: “ It will not be death but a sleep of a hundred years”.
